“The critic has to educate the public; the artist has to educate the critic.” – Oscar Wilde
Nobody likes being criticized. However, how you handle it makes all the difference. If you lock up and become defensive, you are likely to waste a lot of time feeling bad and repeating the same behavior that was a problem, to begin with.
- Only 5% create noise
- Only 5% create disturbance
- Only 5% break the law
- Only 5% are brutal, unsympathetic, cruel, and don’t care
They do not necessarily win in the end or get their motive fulfilled. Moreover, even if they do, it is short-lived and gives a false impression of win.
However, they alter the path for the other 95%.
- They force the 95% to take notice
- They force the 95% to work harder
- They force the 95% to think beyond the normal, the obvious
Moreover, that is why, even though the noisemakers are not ideal, they are essential.
Next time you see one, make sure you are not one of them, make sure you do not become them and make sure you see beyond them, to see how they can help change the path for the good.
Change your path, for the good!
Lastly – “An exciting and inspiring future awaits you beyond the noise in your mind, beyond the guilt, doubt, fear, shame, insecurity and heaviness of the past you carry around.” – Debbie Ford
